I think a 2-3 hour nap sounds very healthy for a 2 year old. 1) Perhaps you could give him his nap earlier in the day, and then he would be willing to go to bed at night earlier. 2) Or if you just insist that 8 p.m. is bedtime and he needs to stay in bed no matter what, then he will accept that that is his bedtime, and will go to bed earlier.

May 25, 2011 · My 20 month old son has been napping for 3 to 3 1/2 hours a day lately. When he started taking only one nap (at around a year) he was napping about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. He was pretty consistent with that scedule until the last few weeks. I am not complaining!! I know he needs his sleep, and I am not trying to shorten the naps.
