Post Sat Sep 14, 2013 1:04 am. I have been researching to determine gallons per hour at various speeds found nothing definitive. My engine is a 2001 Yanmar 420 6CX (M) -ETE. My guess is 7 gallons per hour @ 2100RPM. Boat is Albin 31 weight is 12,000 lbs.

Re: Yanmar Diesel Hours, How may is too many? I have seen farm tractors that run in very dusty conditions and get fifty hours per week go past 4000 hours with no major work, just oil and filter changes on rainy days when they can't work the fields. Sometimes 200 to 300 hours between oil changes.

It was one of the true work horses in the Yanmar line. The motor was rated at continuous RPMs of 2600 @ 375 HP & WOT at 2700 RPMs & 420 HP. Amazing motor that you can run all day long at 100 RPMs off the top. The motor was short lived at 420 HP. It was bumped up to a whooping 500 HP at 2900RPMs a year or two later.
