So they vary in length and obviously it depends on how much side activity you mess about with. But in my experience, just doing the main story in each game was something like this: 1/Kiwami - 15 hours (Kiwami is probably longer overall because it has more side stuff) 2/Kiwami 2 - 20-25 hours (same again) 3 - 20 hours.

As for Yakuza 4 the combat is definitely better since enemies in that don't block constantly, and Yakuza 5 has a lot of versatility in the combat in that you play as multiple characters each with their own movesets. So yeah, Yakuza 3 can be rough in terms of gameplay but they definitely do improve on it with the later games.

You should play it. You can skip most of the side quests, and can finish the main game in about 20 hours. Plus, you’ll get access to a couple of weapons shops in the game.
