The grounds of Wistariahurst encompass three acres of historically-inspired and lovingly restored gardens maintained by a talented team of volunteers. Wistariahurst grounds and gardens are always free and open dawn until dusk.

The Wistariahurst Museum Research Archives are located at: Wistariahurst Museum Carriage House 238 Cabot Street Holyoke, MA 01040. The Carriage House is located to your right as you come in from Beech Street (Rte. 202) Please use the ramp to the Gift Shop entrance.

Wistariahurst gardens and grounds are open daily from dawn until dusk. Visitors are welcome to relax, picnic, and enjoy the grounds. We ask that people refrain from sports with projectiles (frisbee, baseball, etc) in order to help us protect the historic windows. Please follow current Covid guidelines as posted when in the space.

(Wistariahurst uses the German spelling for Wisteria.) We discussed the plantings and toured the holding gardens as well as the main gardens. We had a wonderful visit, and learned much about Mr. Skinner, his textile business, his home, his family, and his gardens. We easily spent 3.5 hours there.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Wistariahurst is the former home of William Skinner, a prominent silk manufacturer and was built in 1874.
