Another great day trip is a visit to the Perfume Pagoda, which I did a few years ago and really enjoyed. Our guide picked us up from the hotel at around 8am and it took around 2 hours to get out there. Once we arrived we did a boat ride past absolutely beautiful scenery including stunning mountains and bright pink lotus in bloom.
