Apr 09, 2012 · For what it's worth, when we began shopping for our fourth airplane (and third C-172), we drew the line at 6000 hours TTAF and 1000 SMOH. There are a lot of airplanes out there with decent airframe and engine times, so there's no need to get a run-out airframe and/or engine.
