Highly recommend West Head Lookout! The view is stunning. We start our trail walk at Resolute Picnic Ground, spent some time relaxing at Resolute Beach, and then took the West Head Lookout Trail. It was overall a very nice afternoon. Overall, we spent 3-4 hours (with relaxing time).

The West Head Lookout is located at the very end of West Head Road in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. This road is accessible via McCarrs Creek Road. Parking is available either at the lookout (see map location), or at the Resolute Picnic Area (see map location), location a few hundred metres before the lookout.

West Head Opening Hours Once inside the West Head section of Ku-ring-gai, there is a gate that is locked overnight at the intersection where General San Martin Drive meets West Head Road. During daylight savings (summer), the gates are closed between 8:30 pm and 6 am, while during the rest of the year, they close for the day at 6 pm.
