Think your call to grubhub support got them very confused somehow, and maybe the customer too. Confusion is bad. When they told you customer is outside, when no, you're at the restaurant about to pick up food means gh support isn't on the same page as you are.

Another GrubHub customer review stated that three orders were canceled because the delivery company said they were " without drivers ". Unfortunately, GrubHub does not directly address this issue on their site.

Restaurants can become extremely busy in-house and/or with deliveries and fall a bit behind, a driver can run into some sort of emergency, or the initial order transmission can be delayed for some reason. We do try to take care of people when this sort of thing comes about however.

I”ll usually reject the order from the app after accepting if I see a really late order. Unless the restaurant is really close and I’m looking for a free meal. Most of the time the order will get cancelled, sometimes before you get to the restaurant which means no compensation from Grubhub.
