It is one of the most painful parts of the delivery. i know it is to help your uterus contract down. Does your dr. do this to you and is it painful for you? Oct 09, 2013 · During that simulation I had to do that exact maneuver of pushing on the stomach (actually looking back I think had to ball up my fist and push down on the pelvis). But I'm not an L&D nurse so they would have more knowledge about that. BTW, I had shoulder dystocia when I was born and the doctor's and nurses did the same thing to my mom.
