a dark cycle is key for any plant growth. almost every plant does 75-90% of the breathing while its dark. that means while lights are off your plants are taking in more co2 than any other time. this is why running your veg for 24 hours can actually wear your plants out and end up stressing them more in the long run. there are very few places on earth where there is 24 hours light, but that only lasts a …

I run 24/7 during veg and have never had a plant go male because of it. If you can afford to do so, I'd recommend 24/7. Darkdestruction420 is right, the plants will stack better under 24/7 than 18/6.

24/0: Lights are on 24 hours and off 0 hours; 18/6: Lights are on 18 hours and off 6 hours; 12/12: Lights are on 12 hours and off 12 hours. 12/12 timing is used during the flowering period with Photoperiod plants. The light cycle is important because plants need light to photosynthesize. The more light we can give them, the better they are.

In the veg cycle your garden will require a minimum of 16-18 hours of light and 6-8 hours of darkness daily. Since a given amount of light can only do so much, equal production can be realized in a smaller space with less plants, where the light is concentrated and the plants can grow more efficiently.

it's a bit pedantic indeed...But anyone with a brain would know what a 24/7 light cycle means...24 /7 = 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...I'm pretty sure people know that there are not 31 hours in a day, that's retarded....but anyway if everyone feels the need to correct everyone on the internet, be my guest guy...don't want noobs spewing "incorrect" terminology on GC....The statement, "24/7 light cycle" …

If your plants are in the vegetative phase they will be fine. Even though 24 hours of light is not recommended, it won’t kill your plants as long as they’re in the vegetative phase. If your plants are in the flowering phase, 24 hours of light is a big problem. Cannabis plants …

In some areas, the plant may even be exposed to a 24 hour light cycle. It is important to understand that once the plant is exposed to more than eleven hours of light, that will trigger flowering as the plant assumes it is going into the winter season where there are …

I generally run 24 until week 3 or 4 of veg when I'll drop to 18 for a few weeks until space is ready in the flower room. Plants on 18 always flower several days faster than plants on 24 - so if you know the switch is coming and the plant is already about the size you want cutting the light back to 18 really seems to help with the transition.
