The Van Gilder is an older hotel located in the heart of downtown Seward. The location is excellent for touristy things nearby. The hotel is a touch rundown but in a strangely charming way. George, the proprietor/ only employee made himself very available and gave a hotel history lesson as part of check in.

Our Location. We are located in downtown Seward Alaska. Getting to us from Anchorage is a 2 hour and 30-minute drive. We are just over 3 hours from Homer Alaska. If you are traveling to Kenai Fjords National Park we are less then a 5-minute drive to the main entrance. Our property is part of the Seward Hospitality Group .
