It waits for 30 minutes at the minor ruins, and then waits 2 hours at Uxmal before returning to Merida. I knew that 2 hours would not be enough for Uxmal, so instead of taking the complete circuit, we got off at Uxmal (the bus makes a quick stop there first before continuing the route)and then picked it up in the afternoon to head back to Merida.
