USBI — 3rd party unauthorized billing added to a computer phone line. Noticed an odd charge on my Verizon phone bill so I contacted Verizon, they said we authorized USBI to add $17.99 a month for local/long distance calling. When I asked who gave them authorization they had no answer and said I had to contact USBI to cancel the charge.

I just called the number listed on my phone bill for USBI (1-888-474-8724). The recording that answers definitely states it's USBI. I got operator #8002 who verified the charges have been removed from my bill (we'll see if that's true) and when we were hanging up, he says "Thank you for calling Navicomm."

I now have to wait 1 to 2 billing cycles for the credit to show up, (which USBI told me that it would only take 48 hours). Verizon informed me that this is allowed by the FCC. Companies like USBI have found a loop hole. Verizon (and I'm sure other phone companies) have to allow this because the FCC says so. I think that it is nothing but a scam.
