Roozengaarde goes for larger fields with same color of Tulips while Tulip Town has basically smaller rows of Tulips with different colors (looks like Rainbow). To be honest it is hard to pick one, if you have time do both :-) 2. Tulip town has more family friendly things (e.g. they have section for face painting, few shops, ice cream parlor etc ...

You can expect up to 2 hours of traffic before you can even exit the freeway then another 30 minutes to the fields. However, it is worth doing once in one's lifetime. Well, I've been to Tulip Town at least 5 times in 13 years. Blame it on family and friends who visit from out of state or country in the spring.

You will never get photo opportunities the likes of the ones you'll get at tulip town. I would, however, call first and make sure the flowers are in bloom. Although the festival official runs between 4/1 thru 4/30, mother nature has a mind of her own and the flowers can bloom early or late depending on the Spring climate.

169 reviews of Roozengaarde Display Garden & Store "April 1-30 is Tulip Festival month in Mt. Vernon and the fields are awesome. We stopped off at one of the Roozengaarde fields. Even on a Friday morning, there were a lot of people out, enjoying the sights. They charge $3 for parking on their property, they have a porta pottie and sell blooms from $4.50 a bunch.
