Sep 09, 2017 · Torrey’s Peak. I’m back… The last time I was here I couldn’t complete it because the weather was so bad. This time it is much clearer outside. The parking lot at Grizzly Gulch gets so incredibly packed that people park alongside the rough road on the way up. I stayed overnight in my truck like I do most of my hikes.

Jul 29, 2016 · Kelso Ridge begins at the low saddle between Torreys Peak and Kelso Mountain. To reach it, begin your hike from the Stevens Gulch Trailhead along the Grays Peak Trail and follow it for 1.8 miles. Here, a small hiker’s trail splits to the right (north) and heads to the low notch, where an old mining cabin sits just below the saddle.

The saddle between Grays and Torreys is a short distance ahead. Follow the Torreys Peak Trail along the south slope to the summit. Torreys Peak lies at 14,267 and is 4.6 miles in when doing both peaks. To return to the trailhead, descend to the Grays-Torreys saddle again, traverse across the North Slopes of Grays to join the Grays Peak Trail.

Grays Peak Trail. Grays Peak Trail begins at the parking lot at the end of Stevens Gulch Road. Hikers immediately cross Stevens Gulch Creek via a bridge, and begin to climb up Stevens Gulch towards Grays and Torreys Peak. About .8-1.7 miles into hike, this trail is gradual, making it on the easier side, and a good place to move fast on the descent.
