The Merry-Go-Round. Herschell Spillman merry-go-round in Tilden Regional Park is a splendid antique carousel with hand-carved and beautifully painted wooden carousel animals to ride. The Tilden Park Merry Go Round puts on a Christmas show which is amazing. It is old time fun, which makes sense given it is the Merry Go Round, and it beautiful. There is no admission charge and rides are $1. Santa visits on Mondays. It starts the day after thanksgiving and runs through December 23rd. It is open 5:30 to 8:30 every night.

It's not a petting zoo per se because you aren't in the same enclosure with animals for full contact, but the creatures are tame and love people because they know we provide food and scratches.
