Tickets and Opening Hours. Tikal National Park is open daily for visits from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Adult tickets for foreigners cost 150 GTQ (about $20 USD). Children under 12 can enter Tikal free of charge. Visiting Uaxactun costs an additional 50 GTQ. If you sign up for a sunrise tour and enter the park before 6:00 AM, the ticket fee is 250 GTQ.

Tikal -opening hours? 3 years ago. Save. I have read that Tikal park opens at 6am. What exactly does that mean, if coming from El Remate. Does that mean that, (provided we have the tickets purchased already and do not have to buy them at gate no.1) a/ we have to wait at the gate no. 1 to be allowed to enter at 6am.

Despite all this the Tikal archeological zone is fabulous. Our tour lasted four hours in total. Our guide Carlos was an expert not only on the Tikal site, but also Mayan culture generally, and also jungle living and even gave us an opportunity to sample the emergency protein supply of the Mayan people - termites!
