During the war she worked in the administrative offices of a black auxiliary union (A36) in the shipyards as well as the federal government.

While I learned that I'm not a big fan of gumbo (I had no idea what gumbo was) it seemed to be made well, just not something I'd choose to have again. The peach cobbler was delicious, clearly made from fresh not canned peaches.
