Taughannock Falls plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower nearly 400 feet above the gorge. Gorge and rim trails offer spectacular views from above the falls and from below at the end of the gorge trail.

The park is located 8 miles Northwest of the city of Ithaca and 3 miles Southeast of the Village of Trumansburg. Taughannock State Park has expanded to 750 acres from it's original 64 acres in 1925.

The Overlook at Taughannock Visitor Center is a great area to view the falls without walking too far. From the parking area just walk past the visitor center and down a few steps to view. There are also lovely wildflowers at the visitor center.4.5/5(51)
