After growing up sailing and boating on the Barnegat Bay in New Jersey, owner Pete Lewis moved to Lake Tahoe in 1996 and began to teach sailing with the Tahoe Community Sailing Program and work for Truckee boatbuilder James Betts. He then worked for Tahoe Sailing Supply under Chris Catt as a rigger and manager between 2000 and 2008.
