If the service is not active and the texter uses a mobile that. has delivery reports turned on, to send a text to a landline, if the text does not get delivered the texter will know... Not all networks have delivery reports! I know virgin & voda do have it, o2 don't on. payg unless they do have this option now.

Is there a scam going around with receiving text messages to your home phone? I received one last night but didn't answer, I only know I got one because I dialed 1471 and googled the number. It then called again this morning and I didn't answer, and again about an hour ago which I answered.

Have done a search on the number and a few people have said it is tmobile/ virgin SMS text message service. I' m not sure about this as origin number is different each time and can't imagine why 15 strangers should suddenly want to send a blank message! Reluctant to call back...
