An Aussie couple on an extended road trip, we visited Clear Lake specifically for the Buddy Holly history - the Surf Ballroom and the crash site. As it turned out, the Surf Ballroom was the absolute highlight of our US trip. The place is amazing, a trip back to the 1950's and the whole building "oozes" music history.
