One of my favorite parks on Long Island is Sunken Meadow State Park. The park offers one of the most impressive views of the Long Island Sound. There are a few bridges that expanse over Sunken Meadow Creek as it runs from the interior of the park to tidal flats at the mouth of the Nissequogue river.

After going to White Post Farms in Melville, we took the 10 minute drive over to Sunken Meadow park just to let our son see the beach (for the first time) and play in the huge playground. This is one of the best-kept state parks with beachfronts - I used to visit as a kid back in the 70s.

We drove to Sunken Meadow State Park to play. Follow the navigation address (1 Sunken Meadow Pkwy, Kings Park, NY 11754) to the park toll booth (actually the gate). There are already a lot of cars in front of you. It seems like we want to do more in good weather. There are a lot of people doing outdoor activities.
