Last week my husband and I returned to Sunburst. We have spent many years skiing at Sunburst. Since the hill was sold last year sometime the charming ski hill has been horribly run and neglected. When we pulled up last Saturday, it was after a Friday night of big fresh snow. We had our powder skiis hoping to experience the fresh snow.

In 1984, avid skiers Kim and Jim Engel purchased the ski hill, and for twenty-eight years, they built runs and terrain parks, and established Sunburst as a destination for winter fun. Sunburst Today. Today, Sunburst is owned by diehard skier Rob Friedl who purchased the ski hill when the Engels retired in 2012.
