Answer (1 of 5): Do you mean “how many hours will you be there?” This conventionally would be a 40 hour a week job where you’re paid for 37.5 and get a 1/2 hour (usually unpaid) break each day. The labor law in California says that normally, your break should be taken around mid-way through your...

My work is 37.5, id day anything between 35 and 40 is standard. Depends whether lunch breaks are counted in the hours. 37.5 sounds pretty standard. If 35 I'd definitely expect that not to include any breaks so in practice you'd be in the office 37.5 to 40 hours a week (assuming 30 min or 1 …

Is there a reason why most full time office roles are a 37.5 hour week. So basically 9am - 5pm with 0.5hr lunch? Would argue most are 35 hours (9-5 with 1 hour lunch). Only time I ever did a 37.5 hour contract it was 9-5:30 with a 1 hour lunch.

Standard working week is 37.5 hours a week, based on a 7.5 hour day. No mentions of breaks or lunches. I won't use the word "illegal" cos it probably isn't (with some fancy wording if needed), but is it dodgy to say the standard week is 37.5 hours but expect a 40 standard week and only give TOIL for anything above 40 hours ... and deduct it if less than 40 hours.

Working hours are from 9 am to 5pm = 8 hours less 30 min lunch. = 7.5 hours. Contract working hours are 38 hours /5 = 7.6 hours . We do not enter timesheet on MYOB, but the employees enter on an excel spreadsheet how many hours worked in each project. The intention is to enter these details on timesheet on myob or in a normal excel spreasheet.

3) Standard work hours being 9-5:30 with 60 minute unpaid lunch, therefore they work 37.5 hours per week of paid time 4) Standard work hours being 9-6 with 60 minute unpaid lunch, therefore they work 40 hours per week of paid time Here's where I get confused. Obviously I'd prefer they work 40 hours vs 37.5.
