With the new church constructed, the vestry of St. Patrick’s purchased the land for the cemeteries on the naturally high ground of Metairie Ridge in 1841 from Gabriel Jason (c. 1817-1860), and shortly thereafter received permission to form a cemetery there from the city council of New Orleans.

4 reviews of St Patrick Cemeteries & Mausoleum "I happened to have an appointment in the 4 story building adjacent to this cemetery and the windows allowed for great views down into it. While non of the tombs are super fancy, many are very nice and date back to the mid 19th century. The space is well maintained as this is a diocesan cemetery rather than city owned.Location: 143 City Park Ave New Orleans, LA 70119

2 reviews of St Patrick's Cemetery No 3 "Beautiful cemetery. One of three, off to the side, it's about the same size as the other two. Old graves, a sense of serenity, and well worth walking around. It is near many other large cemeteries, though this set of 3 could combine and still not be as large as the nearby ones. It is very interesting to walk around, and it is a thing of beauty.111 Yelp reviews
