A crossing on the S.S. Badger takes 4 hours, to drive it takes 12. After the Labor Day holiday is over and things slow down the Badger offers what they call their "Botel" option. You can stay the night aboard in one of their Staterooms and then travel across Lake Michigan the next morning on the morning cruise.
