Curing is dependent upon a temperature range of approximately 55°F – 120°F –below 55°F and it won’t cure, above 120°F and you’ve got fireworks. Some catalysts are dangerous chemicals. Once mixed, you are committed to use all the resin. Cure times range from 5 minutes (rush! Rush!) to 4 hours (snooze, snooze).

For whatever reason the resin cured OK and had great gloss, but remained tacky. 8 hours over 2 days in weak sun, but the tackiness remained. Apparently, this is due to applying the resin in one big blob instead of building in layers. But the resin was hard and filed/sanded well. It has fiberglass strands in it, yet is glass clear before sanding.

Called Solarez. They said it most likely cured underneath but because O2 gets to the board at the surface it can prevent curing the very top layer. Solution... sand the top. He also said the epoxy is a bit harder to get to cure than the original solarez.
