Ski Apache opened under the name "Sierra Blanca Ski Resort" during Christmas of 1961. Amazingly, twenty-six hundred people an hour were fast carried up the ski run crest via three T-bar lifts. 134 reviews of Ski Apache "Skied here the second weekend in January. Other than the dicey drive up the mountain (the mountain road is steep with a sharp drop off all the way up. Guard rails are only towards the top) we had a great time. There was absolutely no wait for the lifts, so we were able to really enjoy the slopes rather than waiting on the lift lines.
