After 30 years of enjoyable camping at Silverwood Lake, I camped there for the last time in July 2012 thanks to their Park Ranger Eric Christiansen. This man is abusive, a liar, out of line, out of control and most likely in need of some major psychiatric care.

Silverwood Lake is surrounded by 2,400 acres of ancient Douglas Firs, Black Oak trees and spectacular views of the mountain creeks. At an altitude of 3,380, Silverwood Lake was formed by the 249 foot Cedar Springs Dam; at 3,350 feet it is the highest reservoir hosted by the State Water Project.

Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area (Mesa) Campground has 136 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 31 feet) on a hill above the lake. The campsites are organized in 2 loops – Old Mesa (sites 1-95) and New Mesa (sites 96-136). Campsites 96 to 136 are full hookups (50-amp), with parking pads that are 20 feet wide and 30 feet long.

Silverwood Lake generates energy through turbines at the south end, then the water moves to contracting agencies or flows on to Lake Perris.
