The 2 hour tour aboard the glass bottom boats Miss Munising and Fireball are excellent. You see 3 wooden wrecks from the 1800's, the rock formations on Grand Island, plus the Grand Island lighthouse built in the 1860's.

Tour is in Thunder Bay - just outside Alpena - you leave from the museum. Tours are at 10:00, 1:00 and, 4:00. My recommendation - get to the museum 90 minutes before the shipwreck tour - tour the museum, take the tour - and stop in the gift shop on the way out. We got there at 11:30 and left at 3:15.
