This was our second visit to Napa Valley- and to Shafer Vineyards! Both times we have left with a car full of their wine! We did the full vineyard tour the last time we visited so this time we just arrived during their open hours to do a quick tasting and to purchase. We adored the 2015 TD-9 and the 2015 One Point Five and bought many bottles.

Unless you dont care about quality of wine, and are just there for the experience. Anyone who is into wine, knows shafer. Their 2002 hillside select must be one of the best wines if you can find it and afford it.

2018 TD-9. TD-9® is a proprietary red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec that celebrates a bold move. In 1973, in the space of a few months, John Shafer went from riding morning commuter trains in Chicago to teaching himself to drive a TD-9 tractor in our Napa Valley vineyard. He’d never grown grapes or made wine in his life.
