I’ve read on here that the shifts are usually 8-12 hours and scribe America says you must work at least two days a week. So I’m planning on working twice a week but I’m wondering if I’ll be working 12 hour shifts or 8? I seriously can’t imagine working a 12 hour shift straight. The most I’ve ever worked was 8 hours and even that was tough.

PA school is incredibly competitive, do not think that you can get by with the minimum. Most people walk in the door with at least 2k hours. If youre going to scribe, scribe at least a year. You'll be a moron for like 3 months and hit your groove after 6. You'll get LORs from docs and PAs if you get to know people.

Working long hours ranging from 8-10 hours a day with a 30 minute lunch break. Most of the scribes that I worked with never took their lunches since they wanted to finish their charts in time. While working for this company, I saw alot of high turnover rates due to the low pay and long hours.
