The square-timbered Scadding Cabin is a little oasis surrounded by a split rail fence and a re-creation of a nineteenth-century garden featuring herbs and flowers. Scadding Cabin is open every day during the CNE. Admission is free, but small donations are appreciated to defray the cost of conserving the cabin.

Scadding Cabin, which was originally known as Simcoe Cabin, is Toronto's oldest house. The square-timbered cabin was built in 1794 by the Queen's Rangers for John Scadding, assistant to Lieutenant-Governor John Graves Simcoe . It was the second home built for John Scadding, the first cabin having burned down.
