Jan 16, 2014 · I dont know much about Spring but I think the default message container opens up a new connection for every message, meaning any messages in the client buffer are put back on the queue with a redelivery delay. you should used a cached container.

Spring's DMLC is set to a cacheLevel of 0 (CACHE_NONE) if an external transaction manager is used. If I change the cacheLevel to 2 (CACHE_SESSION) then the correct number of messages is delivered and the counter is correctly updated, so I am not sure whether this is an issue with ActiveMQ or Spring.

After 6 (default redelivery attempts) a consumer will poison ack and the message will go to the DLQ. A simple consumer create/close then create/receive with pending messages will demo this. true for queue consumers and durable topic subs
