Ironport log says Message # queued for delivery. Recipient never gets it. seems like a few domains that we have people trying to send mail to that use *.mail.protection.outlook.com are not receiving the email.

Most probably there is a Ironport device within message flow which features "Possible Delivery". If a message delivery times out before recipient host ackknowledges receipt of message body stream, Ironport can be set up to deem the message as "possible delivery", but still completed successfully.

If successful and no delivery is made as yet, that would be due to the counter has not reset, so I would suggest in this circumstance to force deliveries use the ‘delivernow’ command on the CLI. To initiate a telnet test for delivery, first locate the delivery interface.

Slow smtp connection response when relaying through ironport C17 Hi, thanks for the comment from Enrioco/Andreas. The slow SMTP is a DNS reverse lookup issue, we had 20 seconds and its now set to 0 (zero) eg no timeout expected at all.
