Hi I have a SMTP server on my web server. I have a smart host that works fine and all mail sends. If I tick box "Attempt direct delivery before sending to smart host" then some email fails, but the same mail works fine when not ticked.

Mar 21, 2008 · The Event source is SMTPSVC, so yes it does sound like IIS is trying to deliver direct. I have checked that the option "Attempt direct delivery before sending to smart host" is NOT ticked. Yes you can successfully probe remote DNS servers using NSLOOKUP.
