Feb 06, 2009 · Re: Acceptable values for CPU run queue length. In my experience, anything up to 2 per CPU is no problem, up to 4 means keep an eye on it, and consistently over 4 indicates a CPU bottleneck. Of course, you might get an occasional spike even if there's no overall problem. 02-06-2009 04:06 PM.

W = 5/20 = 1/4 hours (or 15 minutes). The average time spent in line is WQ = W − 1 µ = (1/4)−(1/24) = 5/24 hours (12.5 minutes). If the arrival rate increases by 10% to 22 per hour, then L = 22 24−22 = 11 (the expected system size more than doubles), W = L/λ = 11/22 = 1/2 hour, and WQ = W − 1 µ = (1/2)−(1/24) = 11/24 hours. Jul 07, 2010 · Runq -90%. This is the 10%-tile or the -90%-tile statistic based on the average run queue and its standard deviation. Mathematically, this is (RunQ Avg - 1.645 * standard deviation). To translate this into English, with the number of load processes at 10, the average run queue was between 9.660 and 10.500, 90% of the time. Runq +90%.
