Rough Point is one of the best museums in the US. It's completely under-rated and should be a first stop in Newport. Sure the Breakers is the most over the top mansion from the outside, but many of the other Gilded Age Museum collections were put back together as they were abandoned for many years and lost the original furniture and art collections that were once in the home.
