This is simply an aerial tramway from the mainland of NYC to Roosevelt Island but it's just so worth the effort. There's nothing to see on the Island, so you'll probably just get off and go round to the entrance again for the trip back. The whole thing takes about 40 minutes but is just a quirky thing to do in the middle of a great city.
