Madison to Old Rag Parking: From Route 29 Business, turn onto Route 231 and follow it for 12.8 miles. Turn left onto Route 602. Follow signs for the parking area, approximately 3 miles. Sperryville to Berry Hollow Parking: take Rt. 231 S, turn right onto Rt. 643, then right onto Weakley Hollow Rd. Follow for about 4.5 miles to parking area.

Weakley Hollow Fire Road. This section of the hiking trail runs from the intersection of Berry Hollow Fire Road, Old Rag Fire Road, and Weakley Hollow Fire Road on back to the old upper parking area. Beautiful hike - Nov. 13, 2021. 5.6mile hike to and fro from the parking. Strenuous path but well worth the effort. Be prepared for sore body next day, kidding. Limited parking spots. Plan ahead. Great idea to come early, ideal time would be 7-8am, weekdays or early morning weekends.

If you start at Weakley Hollow, you will have to hike the paved road twice. There really isn’t an alternate way back. But, you do have a couple different route options. If you want something long, you can hike Old Rag from Skyline Drive using the Old Rag Fire road to it’s junction with Weakley Hollow.
