The Raccoon Mountain Dam is 15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga but feels a hundred miles removed. The dam sits 1000 feet above the Tennessee River looking into the "Grand Canyon of the Tennessee River". The view from the visitors center is breathtaking and for hikers and mountain bikers there are miles of trails.
