Firstly recorded delivery has not existed for some years, the equivalent modern service is signed for. There is no typical letter sent signed for and I can't see anyway of providing the information you need for reassurance. However, most nasty things like speeding tickets etc come via normal mail as it is not standard for DVLA to use signed for.

Nov 12, 2006 · No speeding tickets just get sent through the post. My local post-office has started to open at 8:30 for people who work, this is no good if you commute to the nearest town which is 15 miles away so at 8:30 you are already on your way.
