The country setting & backdrop of Mt. Mansfield just adds to the ambiance. I just found out today that if you go on Sunday morning, they are making hot & fresh donuts (plain, sugar, jelly).

Within the past three days, we had several pies from Poorhouse Pies: Peach, Blueberry Peach with Oat Streusel, Strawberry and Lemon Chiffon. We had mentioned this popular local bakery to my niece and nephew from Maryland several times, and during their visit, they made daily visits to buy the pies, which we all scarfed down like hungry wolves.
