    Re: Hours of strip district on Sundays. Things begin to quiet down around 2 to 3....pretty much all closed up soon after that. Hitting there maybe around 11 would be good....some shopping, stop for lunch...wandering around.... that will be plenty of time.

    If you love eclectic and quirky, then The Strip District is a must when visiting Pittsburgh. Within walking distance of the Convention Center, it's filled with on-street vendors, ethnic restaurants and grocery stores, and plenty of bakeries. Most shops are closed on Sundays; the rest generally have Monday through Saturday banking hours.

    Sunday hours are hit and miss but during the holidays, most are open 7 days. Be forewarned however, the “vendor” stores begin to close promptly around 4:30 pm. The restaurants close at later hours depending on the establishment. Late night jaunts solo or even in pairs are not advisable unless in groups (just like any city for the most part).

    Sunday is still a pretty good day to tour the Strip District, especially if you don't need a crowd to have a good time.Also, parking is much easier. Don't forget the (indoor) Pittsburgh Market in the Terminal Bldgs at Smallman and 17th Sts. They have many local vendors, cooking demos and free live entertainment on Fri-Sun.
