29 reviews of Bowlin's Picacho Peak Travel Center "This gas station saved my hide the other day when I almost ran out of gas on my drive from Tucson to Phoenix. Thankfully this gem emerged on the horizon when I'd almost lost all hope. Thank goodness for this Dairy Queen. The strange thing is, I had eaten here before. A long time before. 29 years before, on a family road-trip to the southwest. For some reason, my mother made a note in our scrapbook that we stopped at the Dairy Queen at Picacho Peak. I’m certain it’s the same one that was there, three decades ago.

The Dairy Queen serves a full selection of Brazier items and DQ Treats. It is a welcome oasis as you travel in the southern Arizona desert. Scenic Picacho Peak sits directly in front of you, its towering chimney-like presence dotted with Saguro cactus that have lived in this area for hundreds of years.

Thankfully, there are a couple of businesses at Picacho Peak that are still open. The old scrapbook from my family vacation, back in 1985, mentioned that we stopped for ice cream at this Dairy Queen, on the north side of the freeway. I was very glad that it was still there, after hiking Picacho Peak.

Assistance with cleaning facilities. Assist in parking and hookup of new guests. Enforcing rules and regulations. Our guests are primarily long term so there is minimal in/out traffic. We prefer a long-term couple, however we will consider a 6-12 month stay also. Hours are from 3pm to 9pm M-F and all day Saturday, Sunday and holidays, every other week.
