Swimming is allowed in Parvin Lake only. This park served as home for the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1933 to 1941, a summer camp for the children of displaced Japanese Americans in 1943, a POW camp for German prisoners in 1944 and temporary housing for the Kalmycks who fled their homelands in Eastern Europe in 1952.

Parvin State Park was a pleasant surprise. It's on the edge of the Pine Barrens, and the small little lake in front of the cabins host a pair of white swans and lots of honking geese and ducks. We stayed in Cabin 12, which was very basic and in winter, the only heat source was an old-fashioned cast iron wood stove.

Parvin Park is a very interesting forest park organized by Civilian Conservation Corps between 1933 and 1941. The central point of the park is the Parvin Lake - great for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. All bodies of water in the park - Thundergust Lake, Parvin Lake and Muddy Run are popular for fishing and boating.

Swimming is only allowed at Parvin Lake, but the popular fishing and boating areas are accessible by boat, and swimming is only allowed on the west side of the park and not on the east side.
