Refuge Closed on Wednesday & Thursday for Deer Hunt The Plum Island portion of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to all public access on Wednesday, Dec. 1st and Thursday, Dec. 2nd in order to accommodate the annual deer hunt. Just an FYI, We were informed by the Parker River Wildlife Refuge that the gates in the morning would open at 5:00 am and they close at 8:20pm. This allows for you early guys to get onto parking lot 1 or make it down to Sandy Point for some morning fishing a little bit earlier than before. Just remember that you have to be leaving the refuge by 8:20.
