I entered the tracking number into the Royal Mail website and it says ' the item was posted on 07/09/12 and is being progressed through our network for delivery'. What does ' being progressed through our network for delivery' mean? Could the item have had an attempted delivery or maybe is it lost? Should I refund her and claim from Royal Mail?

May 21, 2012 · How do I track a recorded delivery letter? ... on 16/05/12 and is being progressed through our network for delivery. I guess if someone isn't there to receive it is could take a lot longer than a normal (non registered signed) letter. In fact it would get returned to the post depot and remain there until someone goes down to sign for it.
