Jan 31, 2018 · Mine went to Mississauga from Calgary, then back to Calgary, been there since yesterday at 5am, its now had three processing scans, the last one being this morning at 5am. But it says its at its final depot and to watch for an out for delivery scan, with an eta of Friday. Edit: It has another Calgary processing scan but a new eta of 02/06.

Just as a little FYI, once the seller drops off your package at the post office there is nothing more they can do as it is out of their hands. Scanning is done by people and sometimes they can hit the wrong button and the wrong message appears.

Technically, it's not really "Out for delivery" at that post office because of course your address would not match any carrier's route, but your package was scanned in upon arrival, and then when sorting is done for the morning, the status of all packages taken in that day is updated automatically to be Out for Delivery.

Feb 23, 2018 · When the carrier comes into pick up mail for their route, all parcels are in bins are the carrier will scan the barcode on the bin which will mark all packages in the bin as ‘Out for Delivery’. The carrier is supposed to scan each when actually delivering. Sometimes they forget to do this.

Sep 02, 2011 · The USPS 'out for delivery' scan is automatic, once all the mail has been sorted out for the day. They probably didn't realize yet that they had a package meant for another state. Once they realize it should be scanned 'missent' and should be sent on it's way to the correct location.
